MATCH WITH ST. GEORGE REQUEST BY RICHMOND CLUB •A request for a match against the visiting St. George Club team from Sydney was made by the Richmond Club at last evening's meeting of the Auckland Rugby League. The letter stated that last Saturday's match against Devonport in the champion of champions competition was not a true test. The Richmond Club offered to have its team strengthened. The chairman. Mr. G. Grey-Campbell, said the matter was one for the New Zealand Rugby League to decide, and this course of action was agreed to. It was decided to approve of the request of the Ponsonby Club to uplift the suspension of F. C. White, who last year was disqualified in connection with tho dispute with the senior B grade team, which refused to assist the senior team in an important game. The junior management committee advised that Mangere, winner of the second grade competition, would play Kia Ora, a champion team from the Waikato, as a curtain-raiser on October 7. A motion of condolence was passed with the relatives of the late Mr. G. Rhodes, who for several years was chairman and trustee of the Auckland Rugby League Fixtures for Saturday:—St. George (Sydney) v. Devonport, Carlaw Park No. 1, 3 p.m.; referee to be appointed.
