OFFENCE BY YOUNG MEN LEAD PIPING STOLEN A charge of stealing 301b. of lead piping, valued at 3s lid, was preferred against two 3 r oung men, Walter .Tames Price and Owen Edward Price, before Mr. W. It. McKean, S.M., .in the Police Court yesterday. Pleas of guilty were entered. Each accused was fined £l, in default seven days' 1 imprisonment, and was allowed until to-morrow to make payment. A salesman, Clement Robert Lawson, aged 22, and another young man. Thomas Edinond Walsh, were charged with stealing a motor-car valued at £420, the property of A. L. Caughey, on July 8, and Lawson was also charged with stealing a car valued at £3O, the property of L. A. Berggren, on June 10. On the application of the police, accused was remanded until September 21. A plea of guilty was entered by a young Maori, Moa Hapeta, charged with stealing drapery valued at £5 12s Bd, the property of Nina Wigmoro, at Okaihau, on February 10. The police stated accused was already serving a term of imprisonment. A sentence of two months' imprisonment was imposed.
