CHINESE AND OPIUM
ONE MAN FINED £SO [bt TELEGRAPH—PRESS association] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A Chinese, Jack Nam, was fined £SO to-day for permitting "his premises to be used for the smoking of opium, and £5 for obstructing the police when thoy made a raid. The only other person found on the premises was a Chinese, who was convicted and finod £l2 10s for being there to smoke opium.
