ARRIVAL OF BILLY PETRIE 'Billy Pctrie, the American light-weight, boxer, arrived in Auckland by the Aorangi yesterday. He is under engagement to the Auckland Boxing Association for three matches, the first of which will be sgrtinxt Archie Hughes on a date to be arranged by the match committee of the association to-dny. Potrio comes with a very fine reputation and recortl. ile was nmateur fly-weight and bantam-weight champion of Vancouver Island before turning professional four years ago. He has been fighting for two yenrs os a light-weight, nnd, although now ft few pounds over-weight, he, says he will be able to make 9st 7lb in a week or so. Ho will rest to-day and will etart serious training to-morrow.
