GROWERS OF WHEAT
TAX ON FLOUR SOUGHT NON-PRODUCERS PROTEST OTTAWA.' Aug. 31 The l'rairie wheat growers have proposed to the Canadian Government that the reduced acreage necessary to carry out the wheat quota agreement bo compensated for by a tax on flour for domestic use. Tho revenue thus raised would bo paid to farmers pro rata oil an acreage basis. Non-wheat growing provinces are preparing protests on tho ground that tho proposed tax would materially increase the prices of bread.
