CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY HIGH STANDARD MAINTAINED FINAL CONTESTS TO-NIGHT •' The North Island and Auckland badmin* lon championships were advanced a further stngo yesterday at No. 5 shed, King's Wharf. Play was ugain .of a high standard. Close contests should result in the finals, which will be played to-night. H. Tow (Hamilton) followed up his successes of - Thursday with a decisive win over E. J. , Rishworth. The Hamilton player covered the court with exceptional speed, and was never seriously threatened. J. Southon experienced trouble with N. Bryant in tho first two games. but raised the standard of his play in the deciding one and won with something to. spare. Southon now meets I. Ellett, while Few will play G. Martin, the ' title-holder, who, although forced to produce his best strokes, won in straight games from J. McCrystal.
