AUCKLAND AND THAMES The annual Rugby representative match between Auckland and ' Thames will be played at Eden Park this afternoon, commencing at three o'clock. The Auckland team will be strong, owing to some of the leading players being unable tp travel to Taranaki with tho A team. Thames is said to have a woll-balanced combination and a fust and spectacular : match is anticipated. As a curtain-raiser, commencing at 1.30 o'clock. College Rifles and Eden A, the leading teams in . the third ,{trade intermediate competition, will try conclusions. ROLLER MILLS SHIELD WIN FOR AUCKLAND CENTRAL [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, Friday The Auckland Central team won the Northern Roller Mills Shield Competition When' it defeated South Auckland in the final at Pukekohe to-day by 8 points to 3. For Auckland Central tries were scored by Grace and Graoie and one was converted by Ilotheringlou. Wood scored .for South Auckland. At the conclusion of to-day's game tho shield was presented by Mr. Caughey on behalf of tho Northern Roller Milling Company, Auckland. « ' The president of the tournament committee, Mr. J. G. Gasparich, and team managers spoke of tho good conduct of the boys throughout tho competition and tendered thanks to those who had assisted by billeting tho boys at Pukekohe and Waiuku.
