Anxious (Hamilton East). —To get rid of the borer in your furniture, fill an oil can either with kerosene or turpentine and pour a drop or two into the holes. This never fails to kill tho pest. You would be wise to treat the furniture before taking it into a new house. Old Subscriber. —A recipe for candied lemon peel was given in tne supplement last week. M.A.C. (Onehunga). —Recipe for peanut butter: This is usually popular with children for sandwiches. Shell the nuts and put them in a shallow dish in a slow oven with the door ajar till they are so dry that the husks will rub off. When the nuts are cleaned of their husks, grind them through a mincing machine and cook them for some hours in a double boiler with no water added to the nuts. Add a little olive oil and salt to the cooked nuts, work into a smooth paste, and seal down in jars.
