MILITARY BALL That an appeal to the dance-loving community, in the pressing cause of charity, will ever find a ready response, was manifested in no small way at tho military ball for charity held in the Frankton Town Hall on Thursday, when about 600 dancers were present. It was appropriate to tho occasion that tho function was opened with a general salute, tho guard being drawn from the Waikato Regiment. The scene was a colourful pageant of flags, regimental onsigns and uniforms. Suspended over tho centre of tho platform was the regimental colour surmounted by an illuminated crown.
