COLLISION WITH TRAIN
CHARGE AGAINST MOTORIST As a sequel to a collision between a motor-ear and a train at Avondalo on July 3, William John Tait appeared in the Police Court yesterday on summons on a charge of driving his car in l'rout of a train.
"1 took tho necessary precautions, but did not see any train coming," said defendant. "My car, which was uninsured, was almost a total loss, ami I ask to bo treated leniently."
"You may have taken tiio Usual precautions, but not, apparently, the necessary ones," said Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in fining defendant !U)s, with 10s costs.
