WOOL SELLS WELL
PRICES AT CHRISTCHURCH SUPPLEMENTARY AUCTION SUBSTANTIAL RISE IN VALUES [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] CHIUSTCHURCH, Friday Corresponding with the general advances in wool values, prices at the supplementary wool auction held to-day showed a substantial advance on those ruling at the March sale in Christchurch. The bulk of the entry of over 2000 bales to-day was cleared at auction. Some wool had previously been passed at auction, but was now sought by buyers. On the average fleece wool prices today advanced up to 30 per cent on the March basis. Fine fleece advanced 2d to 3d a pound. Low, shabby and dirty wool, which could not be sold at the earlier auctions this year, was absorbed very readily, ' v, The range of prices was as follows:
