RETURNED SOLDIERS
ELLERSLIE SOCIAL CLUB The first annua! meeting' of the Ellerslie Returned Soldiers' Social Club was held on Thursday evening, when a report on the year's activities was submitted by the president, Mr. H. Inn Simson. The report stated that since the formation of the club 12 months ago the membership had steadily increased and was now just over 1(30. The primarv object of the club, the care of distressed members, had necessitated a considerable amount of work. A proposal by the Auckland Returned Soldiers' Association to iemodel tho constitution and establish branches in suburban districts was fully discussed. It was decided that the executive should, submit a report to a further meeting. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Dr. K. F. Gordon; president, Mr. Simson; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. G. Bartlett, D. Cummings, R. H. Mclsaacs; hon. secretary, Mr. J. Trebilcock; hon. treasurer, Mr. 0. A. Prior; . auditor, Mr. G. A. Moses; committee, Messrs. W. C. Lauder, A. E. Jackson, D. M. Taylor, G. r. Bpooner, J. J. Toy, S. G. Welsh, J. Pinches, H. Grising.
