WEEK-END SPORT
TROTTING AT EPSOM REPRESENTATIVE FOOTBALL The principal sporting attraction to be held in Auckland to-day is the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting at Alexandra Park, which marks the opening of tho trotting season. Other attractive fixtures are the Rugby game at Eden Park between an Auckland representative team and Thames, and the League match between tho Auckland and West Coast representatives at Carlaw Park. The Association football championship will be continued at Blandford Park, where Y.M.C.A. and Thistle will play. Hockey enthusiasts will be well catered for at Remuera, where the third and fourth rounds of the Devonport Shield competition will bo decided. The ladies' matches will be.continued.
Golf club programmes will include a bogey competition at the Auckland Chib ; a championship round at Titirangi, and a four-ball bogey handicap at Maungakiekie. The Akarana and G-lendowie clubs will play qualifying championship rounds. The winter competitions of the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club will be continued at the Outer Domain, and the various harrier and cycle clubs have arranged events. The basketball competitions will be continued.
