The selection of those nominated will engage the attention of the Cabinet shortly, but no appointments are likely to be made until the Prime Minister, Mr. Forbes, returns to New Zealand. There are at present only 21 members of the Legislative Council, and it is believed that the Government takes the view that the membership should be strengthened.
