FARMERS' UNION The following reports from branches of tho Waitemata Provincial Council of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union have been received: Slangerc. —-The August meeting was well attended, each member bring.ing a knitted square for a community quilt. It was announced tkajb the Slangerc branch made nearly £5 with the sale of cakes .at tho winter show. After the business was completed, Sirs. SI. SlcCallum gave elocutionary items of a varied character, which were very much enjoyed by all present. liiverhead. —The president, Sirs. J. Moase, presided over a full attendance of members, and several new members were enrolled. Sliss Winchester's resignation from the secretaryship was accepted with regret, and Sirs. W. Horsman was elected secretary in her place. Slembers expressed themselves in favour of the "bring and buy'' table as a method of raising funds, and of ob- . taining commodities of which they aro short while neighbours have a good supply. Sirs. Blythe commenced her series of "hard times" recipes, and members were reminded that ideas for the Christmas Reason will soon bo required. Takanini.—-Slembers enjoyed an address given by the president, Sirs. SlcCallum, on the work being done by the division. The exchango table under Slesdames Wallace and Hansen did good business, all proceeds being given to branch funds. The competition was won by Mrs. J]. Roberts.
"To Kohanga.—Plans for the birthday social were discussed, and a social committee was elected. The delegate who attended the recent meeting of the Waitemata Provincial Council gave an account of the meeting, and brought the position of the exchange shop before members. On behalf of the branch the president, Mrs. Hull, said farewell to Miss Randell, who has been at the local school for a long time," and who has been a member of the To Kohanga branch of the division since its formation. Miss Randell will bo taking up new duties elsewhere.
