DEBATING CONTEST
In a debate held at Papatoctoo on Tuesday, in the Athenaeum Cup contest, between teams representing Papatoctoo and Leys institute, tho former, which took tho affirmative, won with a total of 285 points. Leys Institute scored 255 points. The Papatoctoo team comprised Messrs. S. J. E. Closev, C. J. Mahon and E. 11. Burton, while Leys Institute was represented by Messrs. F. W. Castle, H. B. Arthur and G. G. Grant. The ..judge was Mr. W. F. O'Donnell, and Mr. H. P. Grocnhough presided. Tho subject was that tho export quota system is economically desirable.
