FEW CRIMINAL CASES

HAMILTON SUPREME COURT ONE ACCUSED FOUND GUILTY [from OUR OWN correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday Four crimin.il cases were set down for hearing before Mr. Justice Smith when the Hamilton Supreme Court opened this morning. His Honor, in addressing tho grand jury, said that for a district as large as tho Hamilton Supreme Court district, the calendar could be regarded as satisfactory.

True bills were returned by the ferand jury in all cases. A verdict of guilty was returned on one charge of unlawful carnal knowledge preferred against Alexander Robert James Peterson, agod 2a, farmer, of Waitanguru, Te Kuiti. Tho jury strongly recommended mercy on account of tho special circumstances. Sentenco was deferred.
