THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE SLIGHTLY EASIER CONDITIONS Turnover was reduced on tho Auckland Stock Kxchango yesterday when slightly easier conditions prevailed. State loans had unchanged support and thoro was a sale in 1946 4 per cent j,tork at the current rate, £IOO ss. Buyers operated less extensively for banks, tho prevailing trend in levels being downward. Tho fall was particularly marked in Nationals of New Zealand, a salo 2s lower at £1 Is accompanying a corresponding drop in levels. After unchanged business twice at 48s 3d, New Zealands wore sought -Id higher at. 48s 4d and sold at that iiguro. Knglish, Scottish and Australians wero not availablo and oilers at £o Gs showed a reduction of Is. Com- • morcials and Commercials of Sydney were quoted at n cheaper rate, but buying levels wero steady. No business was done in the insurance group and levels fluctuated within narrow limits. In tjio general sections dealing tended to increase, concessions being mado by holders of some of tho leading issues. Auckland Gas, which were sought Id . lowers at'23s 2d, dropped on salo by 2jd to 23s 4d, at which prico further supplies were availablo. Tho contributing issue held its position, two parcels again changing hands at 17s. Huddart-Parkers wero dono at 30s 6d, a reduction of 6d, after which offers wero withdrawn. Two tales unchanged at £SB 7s 6d were registered in Colonial Sugars, which were less firmly held. Now Zealand Fertilisers also wore availablo at a 'slight reduction, and a transaction at 16s lid was 5Jd lower than last business, which was Mnn dividend. Stronger support was given to New Zealand Newspapers, two lots of which were released Id higher at 26s 3d. Robinson Joe was dono unchanged at 16s and Wilsons Cements gained 3d bn salo at 34s 3d. In mining the Waihi issues wero a shade Easier on tho levels. Waihis changed hands twice at the current .rate of 25s and Junctions sold at 4s and 3s lid, a full reduction of 2d. Losses were also recorded ill sales of Bell Hoopers and Okaritos.
