GAMING HOUSE CHARGES
FIVE CHINESE FINED SEQUEL TO POLICE RAID [BY TEL'EOTtAI*H —PHF.SS ASSOCIATION'] WELLINGTON, Friday As a result of a police raid at five houses in Taranaki Street yesterday, where pakapoo playing was suspected, five Chinese were charged in the Police Court to-day with using premises as common gaming houses. Ah Sem and Ah "Wong, who had been prfeviosVy convicted, were each fined £3O, and Wing Lee, Wong Hing and Leu Ching were each fined £25. Twenty-four other people, Chinese and Europeans, who were found on the premises, were each fined £3, with the exception of one, who. was fined £l.
