HOLDSWORTH V. GOODHEW
The first game in tho semi-finals of the open billiards championship was played last evening in tho Vulcan Lane billiards parlours, when L. Holdsworth defeated B. J. Goodhew. The players wore very cautious in tho opening stages of tho game. The standard of piny wns below usual championship form, Holdsworth having the better of play. The final score was:—Holdsworth, 500: Goodhew, 447. The best breaks were:—' Holdsworth. 4G, 62, 44, 89; Goodhew, 44, 8(5. 82. The tournament will be continued this evening, when K. Tait will meet M. White, and the winner will play Holdsworth in tho final.
