PARIS FLAT TRAGEDY
DEATH OF A GIRL BULLET WOUND IN HEAD PARIS. Aug. 3 Mystery surrounds the death of Dorothy Wright, aged 24, who was found dying from a bullet wound in a bath in a fashionable hotel in the Champs Elysecs. The police, fearing a scandal in society and political circles, endeavoured to suppress the tragedy, in which a wealthy French politician, a married man, is alleged to have been involved.
Miss Wright was born in Ceylon and spent her childhood in India and Australia.
The Public Prosecutor decided that the girl committed suicide and that an inquest was not necessary. The police maintained the closest secrecy, even warning journalists to discontinue their investigations. Nevertheless it has been disclosed that the man referred to is M. Roland Coty, son of M. Francois Cotv, millionaire perfume manufacturer and newspaper proprietor. Ho states that he found Miss Wright in a room adjoining his bedroom. She held a revolver. He seized her wrist, but she fired a bullet into her head.
