The following information has been * cabled to the London office of the Waihi Gold Mining Company, Limited:— No. 2 Level. —A crosscut north-west was commenced at 280 ft. west on the .Surprise lode, and at 78ft. the Martha lode was intersected; width 20ft., and assay value 9s 9d a ton. At 116 ft. there is qiiartz Ift. wide, the assay value being 18s 6d a ton. No. 3 Level. —North branchy of the Martha lode: Driving in the twist face has been resumed. No. 4 Level. —North branch of the Martha lode: Driving eastward 'the next 21ft. is ore of good grade, the width being about 2Jft. Driving westward the next 7ft. is also of good - grade, the width being about 2jft. No. 5 Level.—Vein situated a,llo3ft, in north crosscut. We are now crosscutting at 107 ft. west. , . At this point we cut the eastwall branch of No. 3 reef. The reef is two feet wide. Driving south on this reef from the crosscut has been carried on for loft. The reef still maintains its size and value, and has every appearance of opening up a nice ljlock of ore. The leading stope on east branch of No. 3 reef north has been extended 36ft., total 100 ft. The reet here averages 12in. wide. Stoping is being carried on in two blocks on No. 3 reef with machines working three shifts. The reef hero averages 2ft. wide. A start has ■ been made to open up'a block for stoping on the magazine reef and a leading stope carried along lor "20ft. The reef here averages 12in. wide. Stoping has been carried on in one block on No. 1 reef with machines working three shifts. Thb reef here averages 2ft. 6m. wide. On No. 2 level is being carried on in one block on No. 1 reef with machines working three shifts. The reet htre averages 2ft- wide.
