Bing Crosby, the radio personality who lias just completed work in "College Humour," has been signed for two more pictures at Paramount. Hp will have leading roles in "Every Man for Himself," a film musicale with Jack Oakie, Skeets Gallagher and Harry Green; and in "Cloudy With Showers," Thomas Mitchell's comedy, which has just been purchased. Mordaunt Shairp's dramatic murder, mystery, " The Crime at Blossoms," has entered into production at Elstree. McLean Rogers is directing this Paramount British production. The cast includes Joyce Bland as Valerie, her original part she portrayed when the play was produced at the Playhouse Theatre, London, in 1931; Hugh Wakefield as Chris, her husband; Eileen Munro as Mrs. Woodman; Frederick Lloyd; Barbara Gott and Saxon Snell. Helene Madison, who. holds more world's and Olympic records as a swimmer than any other woman in the history of sport, has been signed by Jesse L. Lasky for an important rolo in " The Warrior's Husband," his second production for Fox Films. Elissa Landi and Ernest Truex will be co-starred in the film, with Marjorie Rambeau, Helen Ware and Maude Eburne oast for im-' portant supporting roles. Walter Lang will direct. Arrangements have at last been completed by Warner for filming " Wonder Bar," plans for which were~repeatedly postponed. In the cast will be A 1 Jolson, Adolphe Menjou, Ann Dvorak, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck, and possibly Ruby Keeler (Mrs. Jolson). It is intended to engage a number of European cabaret artists to appear in the musical interludes of the picture. Originally produced in Vienna, " Wonder Bar " was also staged with great success in London, Berlin, Paris and New York:
, " Professional Sweetheart " has been selected as the final title'for the picture formerly known as " Careless " and " Parity Girl," with Ginger Rogers and Norman Foster. " Flaming Gold " will be the title of the next Bill Boyd feature previously published as " Fire Eaters." " Flying Devils " is the title selected for the production formerly announced as " The Flying Circus," in which Arline Judge, Bruce Cabot and Eric Linderi appear. V _2 The most important announcement for some time from the' British and Dominions Films Corporation concerns the booking of Herbert Marshall and Jeanette Mac Donald for an engagement, embracing six new films to be made in England. The result of this will be the retention for the British screen of Herbert Marshall, who has recently been making films in Hollywood. Jeanette Mac Donald is, of course, regarded as one of the outstanding screen artists of America. Her first really big success was made with Jack Buchanan in " Monte Carlo." Her association with Herbert Marshall should prove a particularly happy one 'for the screen. Henry Garat, international stage and screen star, who went to Hollywood to play opposite Janet Gaynor io I " Adorable, will resume a screen partnership with Lilian Harvey in their next Fox production. Before that time, however, upon completion of " Adorable," he will make his last picture for Ufa, in Berlin. Following the German production he will go to Paris, where under Eric Pommer's supervision, he will do a French picture for Fox. He will return to Hollywood to start his long term contract about August 1. The star's next Fox film will be an original, written for the screen by Buddy Sylva, famous lyricist, llichard Whiting, who composed the music for " Adorable " and for several - Chevalier productions, will do as much for the proposed work.
