PETITION FOR DIVORCE
DECREE NISI GRANTED GROUNDS OF MISCONDUCT An action for divorce brought by Charles Gustav Adolf Strom, seaman (Mr. Haynes), against his wife, Juanita Strom, on the grounds of misconduct with Frederick Edward McCarten was continued before Mr. Justice Smith and a jury in the Supreme Court yesterday. Respondent and co-respondent were Both represented by Mr. Bennett. Petitioner alleged that in company with a private detective he had called at the house of his wifo, from whom he was living apart. From what thoy saw they were satisfied that misconduct had taken place between respondent and corespondent. It was also alleged that respondent and co-respondent had travelled to Wellington together. The defence was a denial that misconduct had occurred either at respondent's house or during the trip to Wellington, which was admitted. Respondent and' co-respondent gave evidence denying the allegations and respondent's 14-year-old son also gave evidence. * After a retirement of 40 minutes the jury found that misconduct had taken place. His |Honor granted a decree nisi, to be made absolute within three months The question of custody of the children was feserved. Co respondent was ordered to pay the costs.
