JUBILEE OF SCHOOL
TREE-PLANTING CEREMONY [FROM OUR OWJ? COP.nKSroNDF.NT] HAMILTON, Friday A ceremony marking the 60th anniversary of tho opening of the Hamilton East school was held in tho school grounds to-day, when 110 trees and shrubs were planted. There were numerous visitors, including Messrs. F. A. Snell, S. B. Sims and J. Primrose, members of the Auckland Education Board, Messrs. P. E. Stevens and B. Bagley, former headmasters; Mr. C\ 11. B. Speight, chairman of the School Committee for many years; Mr. H. D. Tait, president of the Parents' Association; and present members of tho school committee. Mr. W. A. Curtois, the present headmaster, welcomed tho visitors, and tho Mayor, Mr. J. 11. Fow, addressed the children on tho history of the school and on tho value of trees.
