DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS ALLOTTED TO CANTERBURY [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CfIEISTCHURCH, Thursday The council of the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association decided this evening to allot the 1934 New Zealand championships to Canterbury. The junior and intermediate championships for 1934 were allotted to Manawatu. A letter from the British Empire Games Council contained an offer for representatives of New Zealand to attend the next Empire Games. The council would pay £IOOO toward the steamer fares and accommodation of a New Zealand- team. It was decided to circularise centres advising them of the contents of the letter, but expressing the opinion that no swimmers should be sent, as none was considered of internationl standard.
