OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP The open billiards championship was confinned last evening in the Vulcan Lane Billiards Parlours, when L. Holdsworth defeated E. W. Warren. lloldßworth started off confidently and, having tho run of the . play," soon had a commanding lead, making breaks of 43. 47. 52 and 47 in quick succession, Wiirren was up apainst the run of the balls' and hnd to make difficult shots to plav himself in. His break of £1 was a well-deserved effort, but the gap ill .the early part of the game was too great. The final score was:—Holdsworth, 500; Warren, 411. This Qualifies Holdsworth ior the semi-final. The tournament will be continued to-night when M. White meets L. G. Hemus.
