(2) To enable the Company to enter upon or acquire, by private treaty or compulsory purchase, any lands or hereditaments, casements or rights of way, within the said district and to undertake and carry out certain works thereon; and to lay down and maintain mains over or under Btreets, roads, rivers, navigable waters, arms of the sea and bridges. (3). To provido for compensating owners of lands and hereditaments, easements or rights of way, entered upon or acquired by the Company for the purposes of its undertaking. (4) Authorising tho Company to sell or lense its undertaking to any person or company, or to buy or tnko on lease tho undertaking of any other company, or to amalgamate with any other company; and, also, authorising the Company to sell iis undertaking to any local authority or locnl authorities and to contract for the sale and supply of water to any local authority or corporation for such term of years as may be agreed upon between the Company and such locnl authority or corporation without the necessity of any poll. (5) -To confer upon the Company power, subject to the consent of tho GovernorGeneral in Council, to make by-laws for the proper management of its business, and to declare that judicial notice shall bo taken of any by-law sealed with the seal of tho Company. (C) To obtain such extension or modification of the statutory authority conferred by tho Municipal Corporations Act,-1920, tho Town Boards Act, 1908, the Counties Act, 1920, the Rond Boards Act, 1908. lh° Public Works Act, 1928, tho Main Highways Act. 1922. tho Harbours Act. 1923 and by any other like enactments ns may bo necessary to give effect to the objects of the Bill.
