NORTH AUCKLAND CENTRE STATUS OF CLUB DELEGATES [from our OWN correspondent] WHANGAREI, Thursday The annual meeting of the North Auokland , Bowling Centre was held last evening, the president, Mr. T. H. Steadman, presiding. In his report, the president stated that the past 6eason had been a successful one. Entry fees for the annual tournament had been reduced by 10s a team, and thie had caused a reduction in receipts. He recommended that a further reduction in entrance fees bo made for the next tournament, and that liquor refreshment be curtailed in favour of tea refreshment, as was in operation in most other centres. He referred to the difficulties experienced by the executive in visiting: distant clubs duo to tb© large extent of territory constituting the centre's area. He hoped that it would be passible to make a greater number of official visits next year. _ . The champion of champions for last was won by D. A. Williams, of Dargiiville. The championship banner was won by Hikurangi, and tho centre's annual full-rink tournament wns won by a rink skipped by W. J. Orr, of the Whangarei Club;, The balance-sheet showed total receipts £SO and a credit balance of £ls. During the year ' the membership levy was reduced from 1b 6d to Is a member. . , , Considerable discussion took place on a notice of motion by the Dargaville Club that rule 4 be amended to provide that delegates nlust be members of the club nominating them, but they may rel Jgate their duties to a substitute for one meeting under certain circumstances. The motion was carried. It was further, agreed that rule 4 be redrafted by the executive to give expression to the amendment which had just been carried and that the new rul-s b» referred to the respective clubs in the centre for their opinions. - . TOURNEY AT PUKEKOHE [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE. Thursday A one-dav tournament was conducted "by the Pukekohe Bowling Club to-day, the proceeds to he donated to the funds of the Returned Soldiers' Association. The tournament was won by a Cleyedon team. Munro,. Bell.
