CUMMINS DEFEATS BLACK The open billiards championship was continued in the Vulcan Lane Billiard Parlours. when C. Cununins defeated J. Black. Cummins started off confidently, having 1 lie advantage of Hie run of the balls, and he soon established a commanding lead. }le was very consistent with breaks of 20 and 110. His opponent played better in the latter stages of the name, but was unablo to make up the deficiency. The filial score was:—Cummins, 500; Black. 397. K. W. Warren defeated P. Knowleß by a, substantial margin. Knowles was very much out of touch, while AVnrren played consistently, his last breaks being 38, G5, 39, 29, 35 and 51. L. G. Hemua will play A. A. Mnssey this evening. INMAN TO TOUR DOMINION It is announced by Messrs. Billiards. Limited, that Melbourne lnman. the exchampion billiards player _ of England, is to tour Now Zealand, playing in exhibition Rames. Inman is ono of the most popular and spectacular players and one of the greatest personalities over known in billiards. His record in first-class competitions is an imposing one. He was holder of the Billiards Association championship from 190S to 1912, winner outright of the Billiards Association Cups—an outstanding achievement only equalled by John Koberts—holder of the Billiards Control championship from 1912 to 1920, this being a record for the length of time. His reminiscences and repertoire of entertaining stories and experiences gathered during his world tour are worth going a long way to hear. Inman will leave Sydney by the Wanganella for Wellington to-day and will appear in Auckland in due course.
