EEPRESENTATIVE EUGBY NORTH AUCKLAND DEFEATED .TWENTY-FIVE POINTS TO 11 SCORING IN SECOND SPELL [from our own correspondent] DARGAVILLE, Wednesday Before an attendance of 1500 people in bright sunshine the Auckland Rugby representative team defeated North Auckland in the first representative game of the season by 25 points to . - 11. In the first spell the Northerners more than held their own and finished five points up. In the second half, when Corner, Jamieson, Carter and Caughey got going Auckland scored 15 points in tho first 10 minutes, and ran to 25 points before North Auckland got going again to score two unconverted tries. Corner was the outstanding back on the field and, when the forwards settled down in the second spell he gave a delightful exhibition of passing which was the start of all the tries scored by his side. Sl.yfield had his kickine boots on as he converted the whole fiv» tries, two from the side-line. Caughey and Milliken were unfortunate, but they were in many of th® movements which paved the way for tries. Jamieson was right on his best form and linked well with Corner in some bright movements. , > Bush kicked well, but was caucht in possession a number of times. Carter showed great pace and his try was a beauty. All the forwards played well. Finlayson, Solomon and Anderson being the best of a cood, even' lot. The North Auckland backs were out* classed in pace and in tho finer points, but the forwards were as fugged as usual and fought every inch of tho way. They were holding their own at the finish. The North Auckland van swept upfield in a brilliant rush from a scrum in the Auckland twenty-five. Pickering secured and essayed a field goal which missed, and Auckland forced.
