THAMES POST OFFICE
NEW BUILDING URGED REPLY BY THE MINISTER [BY TEtKCRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] THAMES. Wednesday Heplying to representations made by the Thames Chamber of Commerce urging that a start should bo made with the building of a new chief post office at Thames, the Postmaster-General, Hon. A. Hamilton, stated that it had been necessary on account of financial difficulty to defer tho erection of other post office buildings which were just as badly wanted as the one for Thames. Tho funds which were likely to be made available this year would' be limited and it would therefore not be possible to provide for all necessary buildings al onie, continued the Minister. He could only say that it was hoped to proceed shortly with a few of tho most pressing works and that every consideration would bo given to tho claims of Thames. The president of the Chamber of Commerce, Mr. C. S. Donovan, and the secretary, Mr. J. Kernick, were authorised to tako any further action deemed necessary in tho matter.
