OBITUARY
MR. R. K. DOHERTY SYDNEY, July 25 Tho death is announced of Mr. Hubert Knox Dohert.v, aged 74, formerly assistant-manager of the Union Steam Ship Company in Sydney. Tho hito Mr. Doherty joined tho Union Company in 1891 when it bought out tho plant and business of the old Tasmaniau Steam Navigation Company where ho was employed. Afterward he served for a number of years in tho Union Company's oflico in Sydney until he was promoted to manager of the. Launceston branch, Tasmania. Later Mr. Doherty returned to the company's Sydney oflico, where ho was assistantmanager until his retirement some years ago. He visited New Zealand occasionally on holiday leave.
