Tuesday The directors! annual report, to ha presented ;it the annual meeting of shareholders of the Morrinsville Co-oj)-erative Dairy Company, Limited, on Wednesday, August 2, states that,' unlike the previous year, thq;. past season had been an excellent 0110 from the point of view of production. The increase in output was no less than' 649 tons 7cwt. of butter, or 30 per cent, the total being 2141 tons lOcwt. Certain extensions to plant had been made this winter, which would allow the increased output to be handled with added efficiency and comfort. Every care had been exercised in the matter of costs, and a further reduction was reflected in the accounts. "With a market fluctuating from 110s per cwt., London, at the date of our last annual meeting, down to 675, London, in -April, out statement that the season has been a difficult one to produce satisfactory returns in will not bo gainsaid," continues the report. "The result achieved is gratifying when reviewed in the light of all the circumstances. The larger proportion of the output has, in accordance with custom, been sold on a consignment basis." The annual summary sfij&ws that the number of suppliers increased from 420 in 1932 to 460 in 1933. The a verago' payment for the year over all grades is 9.374 d per lb. butter-fat, as against ]1.853d for the previous season.
TE AWAMUTU COMPANY , AN INCREASE OF 260 TONS [FROM or It OV N CORRESPONDENT] TE AWAMUTU, Tuesday The report on the year's operations to be presented at the annual meeting of the To Awainutu Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, to bo held on' Saturday, states that the company's output. amounted to 1418 tons of butter, compared with 1158 tons in the previous year, an increase Of 260 tons. The number of suppliers increased from 289 to 330. The increase in supply, the report continues, had necessitated additions to building and plant at a cost of over £2OOO. It had become necessary to increase the capital of the company to make provision for the new suppliers. A supplementary payment is to be made to all suppliers'- next month as follows: —December, jd per lb.; February and .March. Id; April, jd. A dividend of 5 per cent on share capital will also bo made. The total average payment to shareholders over all grades was 8.90 d per lb butter-fat, or 9.20 d including cream cartage. Tuesday The 17th annual report and balancesheet of the Springhead Co-operative Dairy Company, Limited, to ho presented to the annual general meeting of shareholders on August 11, disclose an increase of 10 per cent in production, over that of the previous season, a total" \ of 221 tons of butter being produced. The directors recommend the payment of a dividend of 5 per-cent on paid-up i ■ • capital.
