CRAWFORD'S RECORD

THREE NATIONAL TITLES ; No other player in tho world has won three of the five national lawn tennis singles titles —a record which Crawford, by his woriderful win at Wimbledon, established. It is a record which may never be equalled. As he will play in the American national championships early in September, he has more than a good chance of winning four championships in one year. He had previously won tho Australian title in .January and the French in May. He will not play in tho other title —tho German, to bo held next month. 1 Two titles in one year have previously been won six times —Tilden, British and United States, in 1920 and 1921; Borotra, British and French, in 1924; Lacoste, the same titles in 1927; C'ochet, French and United States, in 1928; and Vines, British and United States, in 1932.
