WATER FOUND IN MILK
PROSECUTION AT TE KUITI [BY TELEGRAPH —OAVN COKHEHI'ONDEXT] TE KUITI. Tuesday In tlio Magistrate's Court this morning Rebecca. May Willison was charged with soiling milk containing 0 per cent of added water, in contravention of the Salo of Food and Drugs Act. John Wark, inspector of health, gavo evidence in regard to the testing of the milk. The magistrate, Mr. F. 11. l/cvien, in pointing out that there could be several hypotheses as to how the water got into "the milk, stated that if this type of offence were allowed to go on unchecked it would bo a serious matter. In such cases it. was almost impracticable to find the real offender, thus the Court would always be brought back to the absolute liability of the vendor. A fine of L'A 10s and costs was imposed.
