TOHEROA AND CAT
A resident ot' Foxton says that ho witnessed an uiuisual sight the other evening. The recipient of some tohcroas, he had temporarily placed the shellfish in. Ins wash-house prior to opening ■ them. During his absence a cat, attracted bv'the smell, decided to investigate the bivalves. When the householder returned, ho found the cat gyrating madly around the room with n toheroa firmly clamped to its front pan-. The cat (lashed outside on seeing / the man approach, and disappeared, leaving behind it a trail of blood from ft painfully crushed foot.
