BENEFICIAL RAIN
QUEENSLAND DISTRICT SYDNEY WET AND COLD SYDNEY, July 25 A message from Brisbano says the Mitchell district, Maranoa, Queensland, has received an inch of rain. This is regarded as the best fiver recorded there. Last month sheep off the shears were selling at 5s a head, and now 15s is being refused. Full wool sheep are realising 22s 6d. Unemployed station hands have been re-employed and all the stations are extremely busy. The weather in Sydney is wet and cold. The rain is extending to some inland districts. Floods are anticipated on the North Coast, where a cyclonic centre is developing. Heavy seas are predicted off the east coast.
