GRANT TO INJURED PLAYER JUBILEE GOLD CUP MATCHES ATTRACTIONS FOR SATURDAY The cone of the Technical Old Boys' player who lost the sight of one eye owing to an accident in a recent football tame received further consideration at last evening's meeting of the management committee of the Auckland Rugby Union, when a report 011 the subject was received from the insurance committee. The latter body recommended that nn interim allowance ol £lO be made to tho player and that his case receive further consideration before the end of the season. It was resolved to adopt the sub-committee's recommendation. On the suggestion of Mr. A. Dillington, it was' decided to call for entries for the Jubilee Gold Cup competition, which it is proposed to commence on August 5. Entries', which will be limited to senior and eenior grade B local clubs, will close next Wednesday. Each club will be permitted to make an entry oi but one team. Inadequate water und lighting facilities were the subject of a complaint made by the Manst Club with regard to the Show Grounds. The secretary was instructed to take up the matter with the Show Grounds authorities. The secietary responsible for the organisation of the campaign for the Sports Queen, in connection with the coming "Prosperity Week," inquired whether the union would be represented at the Arabian Mights Ball, which will be one of the leading functions to be staged .for the relief of distress. Mr. It. F. Galbraith was appointed the union's representative at all dances held in this connection. Permission was also given for tickets and badges to be sold at Eden Park and other grounds under the union's control. The reinstatement of A, E., Arden was notified by the New Zealand Union. It was resolved to recommend the reinstatements of K. F. Neill and J. E. Garrard. Mr. C. T. Keegan was granted leave of absence during his visit to Ireland on business.
