TESTING OF HERDS
NORTHERN WA'hRGA'S YEAR [by telegraph OWN correspondent] DARGA VILLE Wednesday ■ It was reported at the annual meeting of the Northern Wairoa 83erd-test-ing Association that during the season .the association tested 7619 cows, compared with 6320 the previous year. Messrs. A. Thompson (Vvaihur), J). Marra (Awakino Point) and J<\ J. Johansson (' Harare) were re'elerrjed of the committee. Mr. JohanfisßTi was re-elected chairman. Several speakers expressed appreciation of the good work done by the association, whose charges per cow are the lowest in New Zealand. The chairman, in answer to a question, said that the Government subsidy was being reduced each year., and would probably end in two years' time, if the association tested 9000 oows it could carry on without .any assistance from the Government.
