national association COMPETITION RESULTS [IJV TELEGRAM! —rRKSS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. "Wednesday An address on the liquidation proceedings of the Honey Producers' Association was given by Mr. C. A. Cooper at tho annual conference of the National Beekeepers' Association today. A resolution was carried expressing satisfaction with what was being done and offering co-operation in finalising matters as quickly as possible. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. M. C. A. Pope (Canterbury); vice-president, Mr. M. W. Nelson (Otorohanga), executive, Messrs. W. Watson (Geraldine), L. F. Pobins (Teniukn), P. A. Hillary (Tuakau), Penny (Okaiawa, Taranaki). The results of the association's honey competition were announced to-day as follows: —White, granulated: W. Nelson (Otorohanga), 1; 13. T. Cloake (St. Andrew's), 2. Light amber, granulated: Miss Barrett (Eeilding), 1; W. Nelson. 2. White, liquid: B. T. Cloake, 1. Light amber, liquid: Miss Barrett, 1; B. T, Cloake, 2.
PROTECTING EXPORTERS ; NEW LEAGUE FORMED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON, Wednesday A resolution favouring the formation of a Honey Exporters' League, an organisation to protect tho interests of Dominion honey exporters, was carried at tho conclusion of the annual conference of the National Beekeepers' Association to-day, "This will bo a political organisation to press our political claims," said tho chairman, Mr. P. A. Hillary (Tuakau). "Jf ever we are not satisfied with tho work of tho Control Board, this league will provide the means whereby wo can see that something more in lino with what wo want is done." It was stated, however, that tho delegates had no reason for dissatisfaction with tho Control Board, and a motion of confidence iu tho board was passed. \ SUGAR FOR BEES REBATE ON DUTY URGED [UV TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION J W ELL IKG TON. Wed nesdn y A deputation from tho Beekeepers' Association asked tho Minister of Agriculture, the Hon. C. E. Maemillan, today to try to arrange a rebate on duty on sugar used for feeding bees. Tho Minister referred to tho difficulty of ensuring that diitv-freo sugar wouli] be confined to bee-feeding. He said ho would investigate whether it was possible, as Lord Bledisloo had suggested, that sugar lie supplied iu a form unfit for homo uso.
