PAPATOETOE REQUEST FAILS Advice that the Education Department could not grant a request made by the Papntoetoe School Committee, thnt pupils in its district desiring tq follow an academic course in postprimary schools should have tho option of attending ono of tho Grammar Schools in Auckland, was received at a meeting of tho Auckland Education Board yesterday. Tho department's letter stated that tho request must bo declined as the Otahiihu Technical High School was well equipped to give an academic course. The board decided to inform tho Papatoetoo School Committee accordingly.
