GOOD DISPLAY BY KIWI Excellent conditions prevailed for Tmatrhcs plnyod under tlie control of tno •Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association -]a.4tf Saturday. In most of the games the play was very fast and hard hitting was much more pronounced than in' ! previous games this season. The Kiwi and Clcvcdon senior teams •showed to advantage, although Kiwi was too superior for its opponents. Kiwi played one of its best games this 1 season. Misses V. Isaacs and T. Grace "were the outstanding players, although •all the forwards deserve praise for the : manner in which they controlled the 'hall in passing. For Clcvcdon the Misses Hyde were ■always prominent, and Miss Meiklojohn falso /sflowed up well at times. Misses "Waiters GS) and Francis (1) were •'Kiwi's scorers, while the Misses Ilyde 'each netted a goal for Clcvcdon. Had 'Clcvcdon attempted more aggressive tackling and smarter bitting when 'clearing, the result might possibly"Eavo 'loeii different. Jn the other game a surprise resulted •as Ngard not only held Technical, hut, .'on the. day, was the superior team. •'Miss h. Bragg was always prominent for Xgnro. Xg.aro, although playing •fairly good hockey to date, has never fnritil Saturday dis])layed tho necessary •finish. J1 owuver, on Saturday, in spite a very determined defence by Toch■nicnl, N ,r aro won easily. Misses •iFletcher, Waddell, Scoiillcr and Bhodes leach scored goals for Ngaro, and I\liss •ID. Morgan scored Tecbnical's only 'goal. Lady Jiockey enthusiasts will he given Jan opportunity of seeing the New South males ladies' team in action at the IJioniuera grounds next Friday afterJnoon.
