FREEZING WORKS THEFT
ex-employee charged ORDERED TO PAY COSTS A former employee of tho Westfield Freezing Company, John William Ferguson, aged' 27, was charged before Messrs. R. B. Todd and C. R. Petne, J I»'s in the Otahuhu Police Court vesterday with the theft of a knife pouch and belt, valued at 10s, the property of the company, and a sharpening steel, valued at 15s, belonging to a "sergeant J. Cahill said there had been considerable trouble with petty thelts at the works and the present case was brought as a warning. The articles had been removed from a locker and later found in another man's possession. He had bought, them from a second-hand dealer to whom accused had sold them. The Rev. Jasper Calder asked that accused bo given another chance and he gave an undertaking that lie would keep him under supervision. Accused was ordered to pay 21s costs and to come up for sentence within 12 mouths if called upon.
