STOLEN CLOCK SOLD

MAN SENT TO PRISON

A plea of guilty was made by a labourer, Gordon Thompson, aged 31 (Mr. Hart), when he was charged before Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M., in* the Police Court on Saturday, with stealing a clock valued at £3 ss, the property of P. Hay man and Company.

Detective-Sergeant O'Sullivan said that accused went to tho warehouse of the firm and concealed tho clock beneath his clothing. He sold it tho next day.

Counsel said that accused was a good worker, but drink .was his trouble. A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed.
