RUBBER FOR SLIPPERY MATS

Pieces of rubber cut from old motor or cycle tyres and stitched to the corners of mats will prevent them from slipping on polished floors. Shape the rubber, and if you have a punch—the kind used for leather-work —make holes all the way round the edges and bring your Beedle tip through these when sewing ;the rubber to tho iuat.

Instead of changing tho colour of discoloured white net curtains, you canrestore their original whiteness by adding a little metnylated spirit to the last rinsing water each time they are washed. This is a mild and harmless bleach.

To separate tumblers which have become stuck together, pour cold water into the inner tumbler, then stand the outer glass in a bowl of warm water. The inner glass will contract and the outer ono expand, so that they can bo separated easily.
