AID FOR UNEMPLOYED
Sir, —The recent rise in rabbitskins, owing to the American demand, ought to be food for thought to help solve the unemployed question. Best winter skins are now selling at 118 pence per lb. ,and the second grade at 96 pence per lb- and as about six skins go to the lb., it is a conservative value to estimate winter rabbitskins to be worth one shilling each. *A good rabbiter on rabbit country could easily obtain at least 300 per week; this would be £ls, which is good wages Of course, many inexperienced men may not understand the art of poisoning and skinning rabbits, but that could be overcome by the Unemployment Hoard sending out an experienced man with each gang. It may interest your readers to know it lifts'been estimated that given good conditions one pair ot rabbits in three rears will increase to thirteen million.' / • Bkhnahd Tripp.
