ACTIVITIES AT WH ANGAREI | I'ROM OUll OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANGAREr, Friday , The annual meeting of the Whangarei Horticultural Society was held last evening, Mr. C. V. Stringer presiding. The report and balance-sheet disclosed a small credit balance on the year's working. Two shows were held, the results proving quite satisfactory. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr. C. V. Stringer; vicepresident, Mr. W. A. Given; secretary, Mr. 11. C. M. Hnrington; treasurer, ilr. A. H. Kearne; committee, Mrs. 1?. S. Finch, Mrs. A. It. Pickmere, Miss Drunimond. Messrs. C. B. Bevins, W. V. Tiiuewi'll. K. Tiineuoll, D. H. AleDonald and W. Reynolds. A recommendation was made to the incoming committee that the spring show bo held in the middlo of October.
