HARBOUR WORKS
NEW BOARD'S INSPECTION The first official inspection of harbour works since the election of the new Auckland Harbour Board was made yesterday. The chairman of the board, Mr. T. B. Clay, accompanied by members and Captain H. H. Sergeant, harbourmaster, Mr. D. Holderness, engineer, and Mr. W. B. Smith, assistant-secretary, comprised the party. The members visited the western viaduct and lift bridge, the western reclamation, St. Mary's Bay boat harbour, the Freeman's Bay slipway, Hobsonville, Kauri Point, Calliope Dock and workshops, Koliimarama Wharf, Orakei Wharf and Kind's Wharf sheds.
