FAMOUS JOCKEY THROWN TRAINER AND WIFE KILLED (Received June 15, 12.35 a.m.) LONDON, June 14 The Ascot race meeting opened in a sensational manner. Steve Donoghue, the well-known jockey, was thrown heavily when Tavern dashed through the barrier at the start of the Prince of Wales Stakes. The ' stewards suspended Michael Bearv for the remainder of t-Jfe meeting. Beary also was thrown. He denies that ho caused the accident by trying to beat the start.
The famous trainer F. Leader, who trained Gainslaw, winner-of the Ascou Gold Vase yesterday, was motoring home to Newmarket with his wife at midnight when the car crashed into a lorry and both were killed. .
